Founder & CEO, J H Brooks & Associates Inc. | Founder and General Overseer, Faith and Miracles Ministries
Bishop James H. Brooks Sr. is a Brunswick, Georgia pastor, entrepreneur, and community advocate. For more than three decades he has worked to connect faith, business, and civic action for the benefit of Coastal Georgia families.
As Founder and General Overseer of Faith and Miracles Ministries, Inc., Bishop Brooks has spent years preparing and ordaining ministers and officiating life's milestone moments for his community. His ministry extends well beyond the pulpit. Through the Anguilla Freedom Project, which he founded and leads as Executive Director, he has directed "Christmas in the Hood" for 20 years. The drive provides new toys and clothing to children of hardworking single parents, and it recently sponsored 30 families in a single season. As President of the Youth Enrichment Learning Center, he has overseen afterschool tutoring, summer camp, and enrichment trips for children, most of whom live in Brunswick Housing Authority communities.
Bishop Brooks is also a seasoned political strategist. Since 2006, his firm Brooks & Associates (also known as A Top-Notch Campaign Management) has provided consulting, canvassing, and advocacy services across Southeast Georgia. The firm's services include voter research, campaign planning, fundraising, and get-out-the-vote operations. Over the years, Bishop Brooks and his team have supported candidates at every level of government, from local judges, commissioners, and mayors to governors, U.S. senators, and presidential campaigns. His work has reached Glynn, Camden, McIntosh, Ware, Brantley, Wayne, Liberty, Bryan, and Jeff Davis counties.
In business, he founded Progressive Healthcare Sitting Services and Catering by James. He also owned Health Care Services of Georgia, creating local jobs while serving seniors and families who need in-home care.
In 2022, Bishop Brooks incorporated J H Brooks & Associates Inc., a Georgia nonprofit organized for charitable purposes, to formalize his community and youth work. Its recent efforts include sponsoring Brunswick Housing Authority students attending Youth Enrichment Learning Center on a trip to the Capital of Georgia.
Bishop Brooks founded the Golden Isles Minority Republican Caucus. He has also been active with the Glynn County Republican Party, the Brunswick Branch of the NAACP, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Rainbow PUSH, the Georgia Municipal Association, and the Kiwanis Club. He is known for listening to voters, standing with them on economic development, environmental, and employment issues, and putting community first.
