Building a Community

Youth Enrichment Learning Center offers group and individual tutoring programs delivered during after-school care and summer care, using data-driven instruction, conflict-resolution concepts, and kinesthetic learning models. We are not a substitute for after-school or summer child care — we work alongside it, adding focused academic support for children whose parents work and can't otherwise get them to a tutor. Our experienced, IEP-trained staff, supported by a strong administrative team, ensure every session is delivered with excellence and compassion, so students from low- to middle-income families in public housing become proficient in their most challenging subjects.

Welcome to Youth Enrichment Learning Center Tutoring

How the Tutorial Program Works

  1.  Your child attends their regular afterschool or summer care program — no schedule change needed on your part.
  2. We provide transportation, picking students up and bringing them home, so tutoring fits inside the hours you've already arranged for care.
  3. An IEP-trained tutor works with your child one-on-one or in a small group, targeting the goals in their IEP or the subjects their teacher has flagged as areas of concern.
  4. Your child returns to after-school care or home in time for you to pick them up as you normally would.

Tutoring During Afterschool Care

Year-round, individualized tutoring, homework support, and test preparation, embedded in your child's existing afterschool care schedule and built for working parents who need reliable afterschool supervision and academic support, without a second commute.

Tutoring During Summer Care

The same individualized approach is extended through the summer. Students keep building on math, reading, and science during the months when skills are most likely to slip, using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods matched to how each child learns best — all within their existing summer care hours.

Individualized Education, Individualized Instruction

About 90% of the children we serve have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) — a legal plan that entitles public school students with disabilities to specialized instruction and related services designed around their unique learning needs. Our tutors are trained to read and teach to each student's IEP, so families get consistent, coordinated support between school and tutoring, not two disconnected efforts.
